How to use True Grit 

Finish turnin’ yer most recent masterpiece an’ sand to 240 grit usin’ yer abrasive o’ choice. We find workin’ thru t’grits, sandin both radially an’ laterally works top notch t’remove any remainin toolin’ marks or ‘em bloomin’ sandin’ rings.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Sand your item to 240 Grit. We find sanding through the grits, sanding both radially with the lathe running and laterally with the lathe stationary work well to remove any sanding rings.


Add thi sen a coat o’ sandin’ sealer and leave t’ dry.

Afore turnin’ back on t’lathe use a piece o’ paper towel an’ apply a small bit o’ True Grit to yer masterpiece. Be sure an get a reyt nice even coverin’ round t’whole work piece …..careful tho be tight wi’ it. It’s from Yorshire tha knows!


ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Apply a coat of sanding sealer and wait for it to dry. Now apply a thin coat of True Grit to the piece.


Run t’lathe on slow speed (400-600rpm) an’ work in t’wax fer a few minutes wi’ paper towel.

T’paste works like a liquid sandpaper. T’abrasives ‘ill brek down an’ yer masterpiece ‘ill become smoother whilst trappin’ in t’fine dust.


ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Turn on the lathe and run at around 400-600 rpm. Work in the wax using a paper towel. The Abrasive in the wax will start to break down making your piece smoother whilst trapping the fine dust within the wax.


Once yer finished wi’ t’level o’ sandin’ finish, use a clean paper towel an’ move across yer ever imporvin’ masterpiece wi’ a bit o’ pressure, whilst increasin’ t’lathe rpm until t’residue stops showin’ on t’towel.


ENGLISH TRANSLATION

When you are happy with the finish turn up the speed on your lathe and using a clean piece of paper buff until no residue.


Fer t’final appearance an’ use apply yer favourite finish.

If you wish to apply a top coat, wax finishes can be added directly ontop. If wishing to use a non wax be sure to remove any remaining wax before applying your finish. The can be done with White Spirit or Meths.
